A project's success depends on many factors. Whatever the kind of project, it is vital that the project leader has a good idea of the goal and scope from the very beginning. Even the famous physicist Albert Einstein spoke about the importance of having a clear goal:
"If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on it, I would use the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes." - Einstein
Even if the proportion here is exaggerated, it reflects the importance of the problem definition: what exactly is the problem that needs to be solved? If you don't know what you are looking for, you won't find it! That sounds like an obvious statement, but people tend to forget or neglect this step too often when starting a project. This mistake can easily lead to a data science project failure.
