vSphere Replication 6.5 (VR) is a host-based virtual machine replication solution distributed as an OVF virtual appliance. A replica allows the creation of an exact copy of a production virtual machine and it is stored on a DR site ready to be fired up in case of a disaster in the primary site. Through scheduled or manual replication jobs, you can specify which backups are replicated and target storage devices to use.
