Understanding organizational units (OUs) and containers (3.2)
To ease the administration of objects, the AD Users and Computers console DS provides OU and default containers. In the following sections, you will become familiarized with OUs and default containers.
Purpose of OUs (3.2.1)
To ease the administration of its objects, AD uses OU. Usually, users, groups, computers, and other organizational units are placed within OUs. Often, organizations create OUs to mirror their organizational business structures. Regardless of the number of tree domains in a forest, each domain can have its own OU hierarchy as shown in Figure 4.19:

Default containers (3.2.4)
