This book provides the building blocks required to utilize Clip Studio Paint to its full potential. Whereas several online tutorials may state, "this is how I set this up, because it works for me," Liz Staley lays the functions of each tool out, describing in detail what those tools can do, and leaves it up to the user to figure out how best to use that information. This book is great for beginners to CSP, or for individuals like myself who have used the software for years, but never really understood many of the tools. While this manual is in depth, it is also easy to read... I consumed the entire book in one day. It's also formatted to make it easy to look up what information you need on a given tool.I highly recommend this book if you're serious about learning everything you can about Clip Studio Paint, and are willing to do the work to figure out how best to use the information provided.

A very well written and organized book. The book presents the software and explains what it is designed to accomplish and begins explaining in detail how to set up the workspace. Then the various types of tools are presented and explained, concentrating on the basics of use. The book is designed to provide instruction from the root basic skills and then, as you become more comfortable with the software, more in depth information is presented. I opted for the digital version of the book, so I can touch the pictures and they'll automatically enlarge to show details being presented. The book introduces keyboard shortcuts early on and it's been a really convenient skill that has made using the software so much more productive and easy. The author has gone to great effort to present the various topics in an easy to follow format that isn't confusing and lends itself to a very intuitive experience. The book assumes no prior experience in digital art software but doesn't bore the reader either. Within about fifteen minutes of reading the book, I was using the software and my drawing tablet, putting the information I was learning to use. I was very surprised and happy to see how quickly I was making progress in my learning. The author has created a really useful book that has inspired me to practice every chance I get and as I progress through the chapters, I'm amazed at how effective the lessons are.In closing, I can recommend this book without reservation. The best investment you can make in yourself is in your education and this book is money well spent. As this is the only book I've seen for Clip Studio Paint, I'm glad that it's such a good book, you really don't need anything else. The author has my sincere thanks and appreciation for providing such a superior resource for learning how to use this truly awesome software.

Liz Staley has been posting tutorials about Clip Studio Paint, or Manga Studio, as it used to be called for several years, and I've found her videos to be very worthwhile. Anyone who has tried to trudge their way through the Clip Studio Paint manual knows just how hard it is, since it isn't written from the standpoint of someone who wants to use the programs, just the viewpoint of someone who has the unfortunate take of trying to document it.A few years back, Liz wrote the first edition of Learn Clip Studio Paint and it was wonderful. Even though I'd been using the program for some time, I wish I'd known about her book when I started because she summarized the basics of the program in a way that made it understandable to the newbie. But even as someone who already was a user, I found many tips and explanations of processes that made it a much more useful program.A lot has changed in CSP since that first book--not so much in user interface, but in new features to be exploited. A new edition of this guide is not just useful, but a necessity. Liz delivers the goods--her emphasis on readability and explaining the program so the CSP user can actually find their way around the new features makes it valuable not just for the new user, but for the old hand who wants to find out what these new features do and how to take advantage of them.A great job!

This book is instrumental in learning how to navigate Clip Studio Paint. While I've used Clip Paint studio for a long time now, Liz pointed out a ton of stuff that I never knew existed. She goes through every single aspect of the program so thoroughly that this book will be a very good user manual and reference for a very long time. It's also written so that a very beginner could pick up the book and navigate their way into creating whatever art they desire, with a few art tips sprinkled in-between. Overall I highly recommend it and I'll definitely be using it as a reference manual for my work.
