Creating the project


We will be expanding the FPS C++ template provided to us by the engine. We have covered how to do this many times in this book; if you need a refresher go, to Chapter 5, Upgrade Activated – Making Bounty Dash with C++, otherwise create a new FPS C++ template project and call it NS (Network Shooter).

Adding a marketplace package

Before we begin working with the template, we must first add some additional assets to the project. Instead of migrating assets as we have done before, we will be adding a marketplace package to the project.

If you haven't already, open the Unreal Engine Launcher and navigate to the Marketplace tab:

You will see a grid-like storefront with packages denoted by image tiles and prices. In the top right-hand corner of this window you will see a search bar that states Search Content…. Within this search field, look for Animation Starter Pack. This is a free animation pack that we will use to animate our character. The tile image for the animation pack...
