Very well written position. It's recommended to have some experience with Revit to find out how helpful this book might be. As we all experiencing different problems with this software, after reading this book you know how to approach a lot of them. Very good for BIM managers to set up rules to follow in BIM process, avoiding unnecessary delays and troubles. Downside is that you need access to different softwares to utilize this book fully, but even wihtout them, you find a lot of helpful tips.

After reading, "Increasing Autodesk Revit Productivity for BIM Projects", I admired how well the book was structured in an order of just scratching the surface to the level of detail it dives into as the reader progress’ further into the book. The use of graphics, charts, and tables were implemented strategically and efficiently and not overly done turning it into a picture book or random. A section I really liked the “Choosing the right tool” section where a specific graphic was implemented dissecting what BIM is derived from is extremely resourceful; and it is true when the book states, “BIM is not revit.” I think there are individuals out there when they hear BIM, they think of revit. I recall myself thinking that once upon a time first getting into BIM. It was nice to see some of the tools I use illustrated on there as well as other tools that I later researched on and may implement on another job to benefit myself and the company I work for. The level of detail outlined within most sections dissects each segment of information well enough intended for new BIM users, in my opinion. I think this book is beneficial to those who are new to BIM and are trying to figure out how to start off. Equipping the reader with a set of procedures, tips and skills in order solidify workflow. One must understand the fundamentals first upon entering the field to improve productivity and this book is a skill book that will educate the reader with those tips and tricks.Reading the content within this book solidified my current knowledge with the addition of a few new points. I did not know exactly what to expect or how this book would increase my productivity from reading this. Nevertheless, upon reflection and re-reading some areas I was not disappointed or felt it was a waste of time. I got what I sought from this book and learned some new points that I will attempt to implement in my work to increase my productivity for future BIM projects as well as this book has opened me up to a few new perspectives on how to operate as an individual and a team player.A line I really liked mentioned into the book and applicable anywhere else in opinion.“Information is KING; however, managing information and knowledge is power”I do recommend this book to new BIM users.

Can I download the code files for Early Access titles? Chevron down icon Chevron up icon

We try to ensure that all books in Early Access have code available to use, download, and fork on GitHub. This helps us be more agile in the development of the book, and helps keep the often changing code base of new versions and new technologies as up to date as possible. Unfortunately, however, there will be rare cases when it is not possible for us to have downloadable code samples available until publication.

When we publish the book, the code files will also be available to download from the Packt website.

The publication date is as accurate as we can be at any point in the project. Unfortunately, delays can happen.
