Data Classification
Data classification organizes data into different tiers or categories for the purpose of making data available as required and to meet regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and secure data. For example, classification can be used to identify sensitive data and to mark something as requiring encryption.
Data can be organized into any defined category and managed according to that classification’s needs. Metadata is data that is attached to a file and can be thought of as a tag that explains, categorizes, or classifies the data. This metadata allows data to be tracked as a group for it to be efficiently searched and can reduce duplication of like data that can help reduce or even eliminate storage requirements....
