Public network

Public network components contain users and edge services. Users can interact with the web application using various devices and systems. Edge services have the capability to deliver application content and normally include the firewall, DNS server, load balancer, and content delivery network (CDN).

Cloud provider network components

The cloud provider network components are as follows:

Web service tier

The CSP normally hosts the web services tier. This tier holds the program logic for generating dynamic web content. Web and application servers can also be deployed in a three-tiered design. This uses load balancers to connect separate pools of web and application servers. Other components include file repository, web application servers, user directory, and cache.
