Exam objectives

Let's take a look at the Cinder exam objectives.

The following figure breaks down various Cinder-related objectives you should be responsible for knowing on the COA exam. As you can see, all of these tasks can be completed on both the Horizon dashboard and CLI. Remember: time is of the essence during the exam, and in many cases, it can be much faster to tackle a task on the dashboard.

Exam objective - managing Cinder volumes

Creating Cinder volumes is incredibly simple and should be an easy way to score points on the exam. Let's take a look!

Horizon dashboard

Let's create a volume on the Horizon dashboard. See Figure 7.7.

1. From the OpenStack overview page, scope yourself to the quality-control project by selecting the top dropdown.
2. Select the Volumes panel from the Project-Compute panel group.
3. Select Create Volume.
