Deploying the application


Once your application is ready for deployment, there are a few options available that you can use:

  1. Microsoft Azure App Service
  2. Custom targets (IIS, FTP)
  3. File System
  4. Import Profile

Under the Build menu item in Visual Studio, click on Publish WebResearch (or whatever you decided to name your project):

You should be presented with a screen showing you the available publishing options. Let's take a closer look.

Microsoft Azure App Service

Microsoft Azure takes care of all the infrastructure requirements needed to create and maintain a web application. This means that we developers don't need to worry about things such as server management, load balancing, or security. With the platform being improved and extended almost daily, we can also be fairly confident that we'll have the latest and greatest functionality available for us.
