As a complete beginner to cloud computing, this book helped me secure a cloud computing certificate. Here, the author explains everything from what EC-2 instances are and what software and hardware configurations to use for your EC-2 to navigating the AWS cloud shell and generating keys with tools like putty, all with images detailing what steps to take with code snippets and explanations; the book leaves no stone unturned. Each chapter ends with summaries and practice sections, which help reinforce concepts and test understanding, making the learning process more effective. The concluding chapter, delving into the job market and potential roles in cloud computing, along with skill development insights, is a valuable touch. This book provides an amazing introduction to cloud computing, and also goes into more depth on each of AWS, GCP, and Azure. The labs were very helpful in providing a guide to a hands-on experience, adding another method of learning besides reading. I also enjoyed the personal guidance from Dr. Song in the last couple of chapters, as well as the practice questions for the various certification exams. One thing that can be improved is having examples of situations where you would use each service, since there were so many for each platform. However, this does not detract from the fact that this book is very well-written and contains much useful knowledge for someone looking to begin their journey into the world of cloud computing.

What is custom duty/charge?

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

Do I have to pay customs charges for the print book order?

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.

A custom duty or localized taxes may be applicable on the shipment and would be charged by the recipient country outside of the EU27 which should be paid by the customer and these duties are not included in the shipping charges been charged on the order.

How do I know my custom duty charges?

The amount of duty payable varies greatly depending on the imported goods, the country of origin and several other factors like the total invoice amount or dimensions like weight, and other such criteria applicable in your country.

For example:

If you live in Mexico, and the declared value of your ordered items is over $ 50, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 19% which will be $ 9.50 to the courier service.
Whereas if you live in Turkey, and the declared value of your ordered items is over € 22, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 18% which will be € 3.96 to the courier service.

How can I cancel my order?

If your order has already started the shipment process, we will do our best to stop it.
