Great book, great advice, accessible, informative, recommended reading for project and technical teams preparing for a Salesforce implementation. 'Salesforce Sales Cloud – An Implementation Handbook' contains not just good sense for Salesforce Sales Cloud projects, but wisdom and counsel that comes from prodigious experience. I haven’t done nearly as many Salesforce projects as Kerry, but have a few under my belt; small and large, and I wish this had been available a few years ago!Kerry does a great job of making the content and advice digestible. Whilst necessarily technical in places, a great deal would be understandable to a non-technical audience. She also goes out of her way to simplify some complex topics e.g. field availability on reports. The book contains lots of useful explanations, considerations, tips, and suggestions, and reminded me of things forgotten, such as not being able to create conditional logic in quote templates, or the availability of CDP data credits for Enterprise Edition. The opening chapter rightly puts great weight on the need for strategic alignment of the project with the company’s strategy and values. It also lists some of the key barriers to adoption, and emphasises the importance of collaboration and trust, and defining and managing scope. From experience, I would also have liked a little more on building the right team to support the implementation, but the advice provided is sound and well made. The following chapters cover Defining the Approach, the Sales and Lead processes, Productivity, Data migrations, the importance of sign-offs, testing, training and so on, covering all the key functionality of Sales Cloud and considerations for implementing and deploying it. As companies seek to join up more of their data and processes, integrations are more important than ever and there is an excellent and very readable chapter on integrations. Each chapter ends with a short summary and links to reference material and further reading. If you’re on a Salesforce project, or even thinking of embarking on one, buy this and read it. It can be read end-to-end, or dipped into for advice on particular topics. Great for Administrators, Consultants, Project Managers, Programme Managers and anyone who wants guidance, and to understand more about how to run a Salesforce implementation involving Sales Cloud, and the value it can bring. Although directed specifically at Salesforce implementations, a good deal of the advice and information is also transferable to other projects and implementations.

Kerry Townsend's "Salesforce Sales Cloud – An Implementation Handbook" is a valuable resource for anyone involved in implementing Sales Cloud. With nearly a decade of experience as a Salesforce delivery consultant, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and variations in implementation processes among different partners. Townsend's handbook offers a much-needed standardized approach to address these challenges. The author shares practical, real-world examples and tips that tackle common issues faced during Sales Cloud projects, such as managing the sales pipeline, ensuring forecasting accuracy, and aligning sales and marketing efforts. Townsend's solutions are both effective and pragmatic, emphasizing the use of standard functionality first, followed by low-code methods, and only turning to pro-code solutions when necessary. I strongly agree with this approach, as it minimizes the maintenance burden and maximizes the use of Salesforce's native capabilities.Given the complexities involved in implementations, this book would be an excellent resource for partners to provide to their team members and refer to consistently. By adopting the standardized processes outlined in this handbook, partners could streamline their Sales Cloud implementations and improve overall success rates. In summary, "Salesforce Sales Cloud – An Implementation Handbook" is a must-read for anyone in the field implementing Sales Cloud. Townsend's insights and guidance have the potential to greatly enhance the consistency and quality of Sales Cloud implementations across the industry.

The Sales Cloud is Salesforce's leading cloud. Still, many companies implement it the wrong way, too fast, forgetting the best practices, etc. This book will give you a good idea of what it takes to implement Salesforce Sales Cloud correctly. It includes non-technical considerations like "how to drive adoption," for instance, besides pure sales explanations like B2B vs. B2C vs. B2B2C.I found this book full of good advice, reminding me of past experiences and valuable information for new customers. At the end of each chapter, there is a list of pretty handy web resources! Overall, it's an excellent book for taking your Sales Cloud skills to the next level.

Wow, this book is a beast! At over 300 pages, it dives deep into everything Sales Cloud, from the ground floor to the top. It's perfect if you're new to the platform or need a refresher on all things Salesforce. The thing I really appreciated was the way they break things down. The author shares some awesome "Tips" sections with actionable advice, and the "In Practice" parts were fantastic because they show you how it all works in the real world. Super helpful! My only minor gripe is with the diagrams. They can get a little overwhelming at times. It would be nice if they zoomed in and focused on the key stuff instead of trying to show the whole picture at once. But hey, that's a small bump in an otherwise excellent journey through Sales Cloud!

I have found this to be a great resource and will be using this as a point of reference from now on.Whether you are thinking about an implementation or have already implemented, you will find great value in this.I found it easy to read as a ‘non-technical’ person and have come out the other side, feeling I have more of a technical understanding.
