Description
Filled with useful React patterns that you can use in your projects straight away, this book will help you save time and build better web applications with ease.
React 17 Design Patterns and Best Practices is a hands-on guide for those who want to take their coding skills to a new level. You’ll spend most of your time working your way through the principles of writing maintainable and clean code, but you’ll also gain a deeper insight into the inner workings of React.
As you progress through the chapters, you’ll learn how to build components that are reusable across the application, how to structure applications, and create forms that actually work. Then you’ll build on your knowledge by exploring how to style React components and optimize them to make applications faster and more responsive.
Once you’ve mastered the rest, you’ll learn how to write tests effectively and how to contribute to React and its ecosystem.
By the end of this book, you'll be able to avoid the process of trial and error and developmental headaches. Instead, you’ll be able to use your new skills to efficiently build and deploy real-world React web applications you can be proud of.

I've used React on several projects and I learned some new things from this book. It was nice to review TypeScript. React Hooks and GraphQL are both new to me. I like this author's writing style as I found this book easy to read. I also very much appreciate the coverage of best practices and design patterns. This book will serve well as a reference and it thoroughly covers the topic of React.

I bought this book to prepare for a SWE role that used a lot of React. I used React in the past but was coming from a Vue Shop. This book was able to get me in the proper mindset for React and gave an abundance of patterns to use that I’ve used in real projects. If you’re looking to enhance your React skills and add timeless React patterns to your arsenal - this is the book.

This book was especially helpful to learn the changes in React that have happened over the last two versions. I was still using class-based components up to last year. While I had started using function-based components, I didn't know everything I could do with them until reading this book. While project-based books will show you how to build a complete application, sometimes functionality is left out when it is not needed for the example app. This book helped me understand what React hooks were actually doing, how to use GraphQL, and had a lot of information on best practices and patterns to use in Development. I recommend it for anyone who has done a little React development and wants a better understanding of the framework and how to use it.

Can I download the code files for Early Access titles?
We try to ensure that all books in Early Access have code available to use, download, and fork on GitHub. This helps us be more agile in the development of the book, and helps keep the often changing code base of new versions and new technologies as up to date as possible. Unfortunately, however, there will be rare cases when it is not possible for us to have downloadable code samples available until publication.
When we publish the book, the code files will also be available to download from the Packt website.
How accurate is the publication date?
The publication date is as accurate as we can be at any point in the project. Unfortunately, delays can happen. Often those delays are out of our control, such as changes to the technology code base or delays in the tech release. We do our best to give you an accurate estimate of the publication date at any given time, and as more chapters are delivered, the more accurate the delivery date will become.
How will I know when new chapters are ready?
We'll let you know every time there has been an update to a course that you've bought in Early Access. You'll get an email to let you know there has been a new chapter, or a change to a previous chapter. The new chapters are automatically added to your account, so you can also check back there any time you're ready and download or read them online.
I am a Packt subscriber, do I get Early Access?
Yes, all Early Access content is fully available through your subscription. You will need to have a paid for or active trial subscription in order to access all titles.

Early Access helps to unlock the potential of our content early, to help you start your learning when you need it most. You not only get access to every chapter as it's delivered, edited, and updated, but you'll also get the finalized, DRM-free product to download in any format you want when it's published.
