In this chapter, you learned horizontal partitioning and vertical partitioning. Different types of horizontal partitioning were discussed. Then we understood how to achieve the best available advantages of vertical partitioning in MySQL. You also learned pruning methods and queries to fetch values from more than one partition. We discussed deleting or altering partitions in MySQL. In the next chapter, we have some exciting topics to be cover. You will learn how we can improve MySQLs performance using replications and the different replication methods available in MySQL 8.
