What is custom duty/charge?

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

Do I have to pay customs charges for the print book order?

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.

A custom duty or localized taxes may be applicable on the shipment and would be charged by the recipient country outside of the EU27 which should be paid by the customer and these duties are not included in the shipping charges been charged on the order.

How do I know my custom duty charges?

The amount of duty payable varies greatly depending on the imported goods, the country of origin and several other factors like the total invoice amount or dimensions like weight, and other such criteria applicable in your country.

For example:

If you live in Mexico, and the declared value of your ordered items is over $ 50, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 19% which will be $ 9.50 to the courier service.
Whereas if you live in Turkey, and the declared value of your ordered items is over € 22, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 18% which will be € 3.96 to the courier service.

How can I cancel my order?

I recommend this book for its detailed and in-depth coverage. It offers a hands-on and efficient guide to explore site reliability engineering practices and learn essential Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as CSR, Cloud Build, Container Registry, GKE, and Cloud Operations to implement DevOps . ESP..Chapter 2 is my favourite (SRE Technical Practices – Deep Dive). Well explained topics with great details and a must-read book for the DevOps practitioners who are preparing for the exam. I am very thankful to the author Sandeep Madamanchi !!

I am a DevOps enthusiast and currently preparing for the GCP DevOps Certification. I am only half way through the book and couldn't stop myself to write a review on the book. I looked for many references but didn't find them helpful. I can tell how thankful I am to find this book. The first few chapters on SLI,SLO and SLA will give you an Idea on how deeply the contents has been provided on the topics. Well explained topics with great details and a must read book for the DevOps enthusiast who are preparing for the exam. Go for it.

I like the practical approach of this book. The first section of the book fills you in with the conceptual knowledge and the second section of the book talks about the practical approach.I like the flow of the second section. It starts with managing the code then moves to build the code then deploying the code. There are chapters that focus on securing the deployed applications and operationalizing the applications.This book is focused on Google Cloud targeting people with some basic knowledge of Cloud and Google Cloud. Google Cloud DevOps (or any DevOps) is not complete without Kubernetes. So, a basic knowledge of Kubernetes is also expected to take full advantage of this book. Sandeep did a fantastic job in providing brief information (or a refresher) of basic concepts before diving deep.This book is a must-read for every DevOps team out there. I am looking forward to reading more practical guides from Sandeep in the future.
