I have passed the A+ Core 2 and narrowly failed A+ Core 1. I found this book when looking for exam prep material and it is perfect. The objectives are grouped and the multiple choice questions explain the right and wrong answers. I bought the discounted kindle version. You can download it immediately

When I received the book, I found that it is purely an exam guide. I was pleased to see that it begins by providing recommendations for resources, namely, using the CompTIA CertMaster Labs, as well as test-taking tips when taking these types of exams. When I took my first CompTIA exam, I did not, unfortunately, know these things. I did pass, but still- getting tips would have helped ease my mind, since I had no real strategy other than study really hard and take lots of practice tests.Initially, I was surprised that the CompTIA Core 1 Exam Objectives weren't printed out. What I found unique about this book when I started scrolling through the book was that I found the Exam Objectives are actually in the book- but even better, each of the five domains are listed one at a time, and then the exam objectives from each domain are completely written out, along with relevant questions that pertain to the exam objective. For example, the first Core 1 Domain is Mobile Devices, and the first exam objective is "1.1 Given a scenario, install and configure laptop hardware and components." Under this exam objective are practice questions that pertain to that exam objective. From there, it continues on to exam objective 1.2 written out, with its set of questions. There are many questions that are specific to each of the exam objectives as well. Impressive.As I scrolled down, I thought that it would have been nice to have a practice exam that would also give random questions as well so you could get a feel for the exam too. And- the book does that as well! After the final exam objective for domain 5, there is an actual practice exam as well. At the end of that exam, the book provides detailed answers for every question, in the order they appeared. What makes it even better is that the answers are well-written, with explanations as to what is right and why, as well as what is wrong and why. So, you continue to learn as you read through the explanations. Clearly, the authors know how important it is that you learn from your mistakes, and that you learn from when you are correct as well. These types of exams can be challenging to study for, since even if you study by taking multiple practice exams, the exam can ask you any number of questions in any type of way. So being able to go through the answers and learn different ways of approaching it is important. I appreciated that.What I ended up doing to really see if I could get the most from this book was immediately complete the full exam they offered at the end of the questions provided by domain. It is a 50 question test. I had someone grade it so I wouldn't see the answers. I just wanted to see what score I received. Then, I went to to beginning of the book and completed each of the exam questions for every domain and exam objective. I went through the answers for those domain questions, being sure to skip looking at the answers for the 50 question test. I wanted to see if I could learn from my mistakes. I took a day off from the practice questions and then returned and took the 50 exam test once again. I found the second time, I understood questions much better, and I ended up scoring higher when I scored that 50 question exam myself the second time around. That second time, I read through the questions I answered incorrectly so I could see where I was going wrong.This way of framing the questions are great- you can identify your weaknesses and go back to your studies and read up on it. I don't often get exam questions that give you questions on each of the domains separately, and I think that's so smart. The authors do a great job of making sure there are many questions for each of the exam objectives. Furthermore, the questions have the feel of how CompTIA asks these types of questions in A+ Core 1. I also see that the authors are familiar with the types of questions CompTIA likes to hone upon, such as troubleshooting printers, so there will be more practice questions for those types of exam questions. I also like that they have some questions that have visuals to identify, like the Blue Screen of Death, and then accompanying questions, just like how CompTIA exam does it.The questions are also well-written. I really find it distracting when I'm going through practice exams and there are grammatical errors or the practice questions are poorly written. I never struggled to understand what the question was asking. That allowed me to focus on reading through the concept and answering the question (hopefully correctly!).The one thing I do hope is that if they create a digital version of the book, that they create a link between the question and the answer so after you answer the question, you could click on that question and have it take you right to the answer. It would be a little faster and prevent you from scrolling up and down hundreds of times. But that's just my suggestion.Overall, I think this is a wonderful book for which anyone studying for A+ can use to crush this test. Yes, you need several resources to pass these types of exams, and this should be one of your must-haves to pass the A+ Core 1 exam. I hope people purchase this book. They will not be disappointed.

I bought this book because I passed my Security+ with Ian Neil's Study Guide for the 601 exam. I decided to stick with what works. This A+ book makes it easy for me to study by exam objective sections. The answer key details why each choice is correct or incorrect. I feel confident that I will soon be ready for my exam.

What is custom duty/charge?

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

Do I have to pay customs charges for the print book order?

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.

A custom duty or localized taxes may be applicable on the shipment and would be charged by the recipient country outside of the EU27 which should be paid by the customer and these duties are not included in the shipping charges been charged on the order.

How do I know my custom duty charges?

The amount of duty payable varies greatly depending on the imported goods, the country of origin and several other factors like the total invoice amount or dimensions like weight, and other such criteria applicable in your country.

If you live in Mexico, and the declared value of your ordered items is over $ 50, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 19% which will be $ 9.50 to the courier service.
