Cloud native toolkit

Many of the cloud native tools for cost optimization are natively available on their respective platforms. However, two drivers may (rightly so) drive businesses to use non-native services to optimize costs:

  • The independence of a third party to deduce cost optimization areas
  • The ability to work across two or more cloud environments (multi-cloud architectures)

This space is getting squeezed as CSPs replicate many of the features provided by these companies natively on the platforms. Many of the tools that provided cost optimization have been forced to pivot to management and operational automation.

Cloudability

One of the last remaining independent tools focused on cost transparency is Cloudability, which gives users a detailed budget and daily reports based on detailed metrics it collects from your cloud environments. It is currently available and integrates with the major CSPs.
