I worked as software engineering manager for 15+ years and recently took the role of SA Manager in a top public cloud provider organization. The first challenge, I faced to understand the SA role clearly and upskill myself to mentor my team. I got recommendation of this book from one of my peer manager. I was pretty confident about my role, as I have worked as a software architect. But after going through book, I understood that, SA role is much beyond software architecture, and it covers end to end system view from IT infrastructure to industry compliance and cost optimization. Also, soft skill required for the SA role is very different from SDE role. This book explained complexity of SA role in very details and clearly define their responsibilities. I was surprise to see so many architecture references supplement by industry use case and upcoming technology trends. It's 600 pages of complete guide and worth of every penny. I can not think of any topic which has not covered in the book related to enterprise IT workload with details. The book covers all recent feature, even some cloud services launched just a month ago. Overall, it's a conceptual book which will never get old, and I added this as part of the onboarding process for any new SA joining my org to get them up to speed quickly .

You can tell this book has been written with the intent to guide aspiring Solutions Architects, based on what the writers would have wanted to know in their early careers as Solutions Architects.Prior to reading this book, I had heard it was a fantastic read, I have to say it has surpassed my expectations.Being a student learning to be a Solutions Architect in a sea of resources, this is exactly what I've been looking for.This book has clear and structured key information which is not limited to valuable in-depth information on services, best practices, how they fit together, and how you would impliment each service with detailed use case scenarios but they have also delved into agile practices, team dynamic, the responsibilities of the members in the team and so much more.I definitely feel like I've taken a peek behind the curtain at the role and I am excited to start my career now I know what is expected of me and what to expect.I highly recommend reading this book and keeping it close for reference!!

I am working in the Enterprise Architect Role since last two decades and looking to get my hands in cloud platforms. I found tons of resources available online to learn cloud, but all of them teaching the platform in a very scattered way, it's like giving you a set of Legos without giving any idea ideas to what to do with them. One of my friend who happen to work in AWS as Solution Architect recommended this book to me. I found this book as a booster for my skills with very comprehensive knowledge written in well-structured manner.
