What is custom duty/charge?

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

Do I have to pay customs charges for the print book order?

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.

A custom duty or localized taxes may be applicable on the shipment and would be charged by the recipient country outside of the EU27 which should be paid by the customer and these duties are not included in the shipping charges been charged on the order.

How do I know my custom duty charges?

The amount of duty payable varies greatly depending on the imported goods, the country of origin and several other factors like the total invoice amount or dimensions like weight, and other such criteria applicable in your country.

For example:

If you live in Mexico, and the declared value of your ordered items is over $ 50, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 19% which will be $ 9.50 to the courier service.
Whereas if you live in Turkey, and the declared value of your ordered items is over € 22, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 18% which will be € 3.96 to the courier service.

How can I cancel my order?

Cancellation Policy for Published Printed Books:

You can cancel any order within 1 hour of placing the order. Simply contact [email protected] with your order details or payment transaction id. If your order has already started the shipment process, we will do our best to stop it. However, if it is already on the way to you then when you receive it, you can contact us at [email protected] using the returns and refund process.

ChatGPT has been around for a while now and it seems its value is propogating to many downstream domains.As a Machine Learning person I was looking for a book that covers both the algorithmic aspects but also the user experience side of ChatGPT.This book addresses both in a clear and consise manner.The book begins by discussing the design and architecture of neural networks, including RNNs, LSTMs, and Transformers. The author explains how ChatGPT was trained on a massive corpus of text and code, and how it can be used to generate text, translate languages, and write code.The book then discusses how ChatGPT can be used as a personal assistant, developer tool, and research assistant. The author provides examples of how ChatGPT can be used in marketing, industry, and law.You see examples of ideation, being a thought partner, and highlighting areas to focus on.I personally appriciate the addressing an interesting use case of taking an outdated COBOL code and translating it to some modern programming language.And the choice of explaining LangChain makes this book complete with regards to the value I was looking to get.Overall, this is a well-written and informative book. It is a valuable resource for anyone who is interested in learning more about ChatGPT and its potential applications.To sum up:- The author does a good job of explaining the technical aspects of ChatGPT.- The author provides a variety of examples of how ChatGPT can be used in different applications.- The book is well-written and easy to understand.

"Modern Generative AI with ChatGPT and OpenAI Models" was a surprisingly enlightening read for someone like me, who's relatively new to the whole AI scene. When I first picked up this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. Terms like 'generative AI' and 'GPT models' sounded daunting, and I worried it might be too technical for me. But I was pleasantly surprised by how accessible and understandable the content was.The book starts with the basics, gently introducing the concept of generative AI, which I appreciated. It didn't assume much prior knowledge, making it easier for a beginner like me to grasp the fundamentals. The sections on prompt design were eye-opening, showing me how to communicate effectively with AI, something I hadn't considered before.What stood out to me was the practical applications the book covered. It didn't just stick to theory; it showed how AI could be used to improve productivity, enhance research methods, and even better one's writing skills. As someone who's always looking for ways to be more efficient and creative, these insights were incredibly valuable.

This is an excellent work and valuable resource. Valentina Alto The author introduces the practical use of generative AI (GenAI) in a systematic manner, demonstrating synergy in this accessible overview. It is geared toward the emerging GenAI developer with practical examples and the first section and solutionoverview and summary commentaries work for Center of Excellence (CoE)and even some executive roles. The author builds out the components of GenAI from a familiar “chat app” point of view. With a firm basis and understanding of prompting from a utility as much as a prompt engineering understanding to elicit value beyond question and answer or simply completion. The author then movesinto leveraging GenAI for applied usage as digestible vignettes of real everyday efficiency and proficiency gains. These examples remind me of a round of “field notes” that are not conjured up marketing hopes, but real use cases that everyone can understand. There are included test and try examples and guidedthought mechanisms across a wide range of scenarios and domains for better understanding without being a narrow or isolated recipe set. This clarity is much welcomed as GenAI rapidly moves deeper,wider, and more complex. Firmly standing on solid ground, the author delves into and expands possibilities around development, marketing, and research as areas where GenAI is being applied. These approaches open one’s mind to the art of the possible—coding, segmenting, reasoning, and elaboration. The book concludes with a treatise on ChatGPT and its utility in the enterprise and deeper into the API of GenAI and deeper applications toward enterprise trends and art of the reality solutions. This expansion into enterprise hyperscaling, reach, and security sets the stage for GenAI to lean-in to action. While thebook closes on summary, impact, and concerns, it is important to note that the author posits a clear takeaway of a future of much possible positive paths which will enhance, enrich, and inform as we do our work, learn, and solve.

As an AI evangelist and AI critic, I was very happy to see that generative AI wasn't hyped in this book like it is nearly everywhere else. It wasn't focused on how ChatGPT and similar technologies will lead to a dystopia or utopia. It simply gave many examples of what the current technology is capable of and how it works.I really liked the organization. Each chapter was geared toward a particular type of reader: the general layman, developers, marketers, researchers... Then came the section on using generative AI in the workplace. The book ended with thoughts about the future of the technology and pain points.If you're interested in generative AI or ChatGPT, this is a good starting point. Read this and avoid the hype.
