Math skills never came naturally to me but as an indie game developer they are very useful. Penny's book makes these subjects feel less exclusive and more approachable for people like me. I highly recommend this book to anyone who struggles to learn mathematics for gaming applications.

Mathematics for Game Programming and Computer Graphics gives a well written introduction into a lot of basic algorithms without going too much in detail of concepts that are implemented ( in OpenGL e.g. Anti Aliasing). With easy to understand pictures the author makes sure you understand very abstract problems. At the end of each section, there's an exercise to repeat all the learnt things. Overall great read, can highly recommend!

I’ve always enjoyed her videos, so when I saw the chance to get a book by Penny De Byl, I jumped at the chance! One of the things I’ve already really liked in the book is that there is a wealth of information, and each is culminated by an end of chapter “do one”. Theory without practice is good, in theory, so I’m really happy to be also given the chance to practice - and with the answer after, I can check anything I might not understand. You will also very likely, gain more information than just graphics with a lot of high level math also included in the book.Highly recommended for people who want to learn more about computer graphics, it also comes with a very handy QR code so you can get a PDF version of the book you can view on any device. Thanks Packt!

As a computer science student, maths plays a major role in concepts like loops and algorithms. This book is useful not only for game developers but also for people who are interested in graphics programming, image analysis, and 3D Modelling. It even explains topics like matrices, trigonometry, graph plotting, and pixelization of images. Python language is an added advantage that helps in understanding the concepts visually. Students who are weak in maths can understand the chapters without much trouble. From my analysis, this book helps in understanding game engines, and game objects mathematically.
