This book covers both worlds of c++ and game development. If you are a beginner or have been programming for years, then I highly recommend getting this book to further your learning in the C++ programming language and game development. You will master the basics of C++ and learn about variables, basic loops, if statements, classes, methods, and inheritance. The book even covers learning about pointers and references which are essential to mastering C++. Another topic which I appreciate is how to create a new project and configure solution settings. This is also a skill that every C++ programmer needs but no other book covers. Regarding game development, you will have multiple complete games and projects to put on your portfolio when you have finished reading. I definitely recommend this book if you are new or experienced.

This book is an easy to follow primer for getting your feet wet with C++. The author goes to great lengths in plotting the reader through the tools and code needed for beginner C++ game projects. I have to preface that all of this is done OUTSIDE of a game engine, that is, from scratch, and touches on topics like direct access to the GPU and other techniques that although usually more relegated for advanced developers, this is done in an approachable and friendly way. This book does require you to have basic computing knowledge and perhaps a light notion of how a game works, and from then the author takes you into a much elaborated understanding of the process, and the language.The book also serves as a rabbit hole from which to pursue searching more advanced techniques in game programming from scratch, so be warned that although this is aimed at beginners, the option for you to carve a path into greater depths of game dev does present itself once you're finished with the book, and it does encourage you to further get in deeper into C++ both game development and as a programming language proper.Really good book in general. Writing a game from scratch without an engine is a dying art and this book is here to bring back the interest in creating really fast and snappy code and games from scratch.

As a former University Instructor and now working on the simulator programs for the DoD, I have a lot of experience training new people in C++ and most want the quick, easy, how-tos and that doesn't help then understand the fundamentals of Computer Science that will help build that foundational code structure for good code later on but this book does that alond the way by introducing concepts and theory throughout.This book is an amazing learning experience for all learners from beginners to the more experienced from visual to tactical this book includes everyone and that is amazing!!! Not only are the games incredibly fun to write but you are learning along the way. The software is open source so nothing is extra cost and I have shared this with educators I know doing summer camps as a learning resource and I highly HIGHLY recommend anyone buy and try this book because C++ is one of the top 5 languages to know today and if you can learn it by making games, then heck yes.

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.
