One of the book's standout features is its comprehensive guide to building scalable backend systems. Ahmet Meric explains the core principles of scalability, demonstrating how Spring Boot 3.0 can handle high traffic and large data volumes efficiently. The book's practical approach, coupled with detailed explanations and real-world examples, ensures that readers gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills.

In my endless quest for knowledge (especially relating to Java 😍 and Spring 🥰), I decided to pick up this book because I love a good resource 😏😅.Now obviously, there was a lot of information to get into, but a couple things stood out to me and made me really wanna get my hands on this book.Since I'm currently doing an online course on deployment and learning about Docker and Kubernetes, etc., the chapter on containerization and orchestration was definitely one of the the things that caught my eye. It walked me through how to use Docker to containerize my Spring Boot apps and then orchestrate them with Kubernetes. The online course I'm doing is using a TypeScript Nest.js app 🫤, so I wanted to get my hands on this book and dig into this chapter to learn how to build apps that are efficient and scalable using Java and Spring.Besides the containerization chapter, the section on microservices was also pretty insightful. 💡 I've been trying to get a better understanding of design patterns and I think this chapter really helped me understand how microservices break down applications into smaller, independent services.I was also simultaneously excited and dreading the chapter about Test-Driven Development (TDD) because testing in general is just not one of my strongest areas. 😒😩😮‍💨😅 But the book did a pretty good job of showing me how writing tests before code can help to catch bugs early and keep the codebase organized. The practical examples really helped bring everything together and kinda made it all click for me. (I still don't enjoy writing tests though. 😒🥴😭🤣😂)The book also covered some important updates on Spring Security configurations, especially around CSRF protection 😫 and WebSocket security(coincidentally, I was just recently lamenting the fact that I didn't know what those were 😅).This section of the book was a great introduction to the subject of Spring Security, which although I've worked with it before, there are still a lot of areas I definitely feel like a dunce in. 🥴😂🤣Anyways, in my opinion, the book is great for anyone looking to really step their game up with Spring Boot 3.0 and I would definitely recommend it! It helped me understand a few concepts that weren't exactly clear to me before and it honestly left me feeling like I was ready to go work in Silicon Valley. 😂🤣🥴

Can I download the code files for Early Access titles? Chevron down icon Chevron up icon

We try to ensure that all books in Early Access have code available to use, download, and fork on GitHub. This helps us be more agile in the development of the book, and helps keep the often changing code base of new versions and new technologies as up to date as possible. Unfortunately, however, there will be rare cases when it is not possible for us to have downloadable code samples available until publication.

When we publish the book, the code files will also be available to download from the Packt website.

How accurate is the publication date? Chevron down icon Chevron up icon

The publication date is as accurate as we can be at any point in the project. Unfortunately, delays can happen. Often those delays are out of our control, such as changes to the technology code base or delays in the tech release. We do our best to give you an accurate estimate of the publication date at any given time, and as more chapters are delivered, the more accurate the delivery date will become.
