What is custom duty/charge?

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

Do I have to pay customs charges for the print book order?

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.

A custom duty or localized taxes may be applicable on the shipment and would be charged by the recipient country outside of the EU27 which should be paid by the customer and these duties are not included in the shipping charges been charged on the order.

How do I know my custom duty charges?

The amount of duty payable varies greatly depending on the imported goods, the country of origin and several other factors like the total invoice amount or dimensions like weight, and other such criteria applicable in your country.

For example:

If you live in Mexico, and the declared value of your ordered items is over $ 50, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 19% which will be $ 9.50 to the courier service.
Whereas if you live in Turkey, and the declared value of your ordered items is over € 22, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 18% which will be € 3.96 to the courier service.

How can I cancel my order?

Cancellation Policy for Published Printed Books:

You can cancel any order within 1 hour of placing the order. Simply contact [email protected] with your order details or payment transaction id. If your order has already started the shipment process, we will do our best to stop it. However, if it is already on the way to you then when you receive it, you can contact us at [email protected] using the returns and refund process.

Please understand that Packt Publishing cannot provide refunds or cancel any order except for the cases described in our Return Policy (i.e. Packt Publishing agrees to replace your printed book because it arrives damaged or material defect in book), Packt Publishing will not accept returns.

What is your returns and refunds policy?

Return Policy:

We want you to be happy with your purchase from Packtpub.com. We will not hassle you with returning print books to us. If the print book you receive from us is incorrect, damaged, doesn't work or is unacceptably late, please contact Customer Relations Team on [email protected] with the order number and issue details as explained below:

If you ordered (eBook, Video or Print Book) incorrectly or accidentally, please contact Customer Relations Team on [email protected] within one hour of placing the order and we will replace/refund you the item cost.
Sadly, if your eBook or Video file is faulty or a fault occurs during the eBook or Video being made available to you, i.e. during download then you should contact Customer Relations Team within 14 days of purchase on [email protected] who will be able to resolve this issue for you.
You will have a choice of replacement or refund of the problem items.(damaged, defective or incorrect)
Once Customer Care Team confirms that you will be refunded, you should receive the refund within 10 to 12 working days.
If you are only requesting a refund of one book from a multiple order, then we will refund you the appropriate single item.
Where the items were shipped under a free shipping offer, there will be no shipping costs to refund.

What tax is charged?

Currently, no tax is charged on the purchase of any print book (subject to change based on the laws and regulations). This book is so comprehensive! It covers such a wide range of tools and techniques that are great for beginners as well as people who already have experience with Adobe Photoshop. As someone who already knows the basics, I still found myself learning and discovering so much with this book! Definitely recommend it, no matter what your skill level is!

I don’t have a ton of experience with Photoshop, so I was looking for something to reference as needed.This book is pretty complete. It explains PS organizational tools and how to leverage them.What I like most about this book is that it has FAQ-style sections that help you fix specific issues about a photo.It’s very photograph-centric, so not something you’d look into if you’re wanting to focus on graphic design.The book also has a feature appendix that breaks down each section of Photoshop.

TLDR; I would highly recommend this book. It is very detailed, has some very useful information, has both technical and real-life examples, and is well structured and organized.Firstly, this book is very detailed and comprehensive. It is over 500 pages long and covers 12 chapters, and contains very up-to-date information about Photoshop - including 2023 Photoshop Elements features. Overall, it’s very thorough and well thought out. Every single menu (as far as I can tell anyway) is covered and explained in an easy-to-understand way. It starts from the basics and goes through some fairly advanced concepts.Next, it isn’t just a cheat sheet or a list of the features of Photoshop. It has several pages of information about the author and links to download the images - but more importantly, it has very detailed information covering setting up photoshop from scratch, monitor quality, storage mediums, laptop issues, importing files, backups, organizing work, detailed information about scanners, etc - covering several pages. This is a very comprehensive guide to Photoshop, and image editing in general to some extent. There is also a useful section about troubleshooting.Additionally, it has a mix of both technical and real-life examples. The technical side of it covers things like JPEG & RAW file formats, bit depth, compression color space, etc in a way that is easy to understand. However, it also has real-life examples of things like photo calendars and greetings cards. The features are all explained in a useful, real-life context. The book includes a section about easy creative projects such as filters, ai colorization, merging photos, merging panoramas, etc.The one criticism I would say is that it doesn’t have project walkthroughs. This isn’t necessarily needed. However, it may help if a tutorial was included for a real project from start to finish. This is covered to some extent through the photo calendars and greetings cards, but just not to a huge extent.But the whole book is very well structured and organized in my opinion. At the end of each chapter the keyboard shortcuts are listed, there is a useful feature appendix at the end, a troubleshooting section, high-quality color images on basically every page, etc. The chapters are generally ordered in terms of the particular menus, what’s inside of them, and specific features.To conclude, it’s an excellent book. I would recommend it to people who don’t know where to start with Photoshop, and especially people who haven’t used photo editing software before. If you are serious about Photoshop, this is the book to get. I have very few criticisms of it, and the price is great for the amount of content you are getting. I haven’t personally used Photoshop, but if I ever decide to learn the package, this book is likely what I’ll use (I was given a copy of the book to review so all the opinions are my own).

(Review copy provided by Publisher).I am a hobby photographer and a long-time user of Photoshop products. I decided to spin up Photoshop Elements after going through this book. I have to say it is extremely detailed. I never imagined that Photoshop Elements had so many features. For those who are feel the standard Photoshop is too advanced, then Elements makes perfect sense. Elements is cheaper as well.If you have chosen Elements as your weapon of choice, then, book should be your ultimate companion. The book starts with the basics, like how to open files, and going into deep into every feature of Elements. There are actual high resolution color photos accompanying each chapter, and each step. If anything, I might add, you might become overwhelmed, in a good way, with the amount of information provided in each chapter, covering every little thing about Elements.Lastly, given the massive size, I found the chapters are organized, linearly, but, you can skip and jump to only those topics and chapters you like. Each chapter is self-contained, so you are encouraged to skip.
