‘Low Poly 3D Modeling in Blender’ is a great book for anyone looking to get into modeling 3D scenes and assets in a Low Poly style. Written foremost for beginners to 3D work, this book could also be valuable to those already experienced in 3D modeling but are looking to transition to Blender from other 3D programs.Spanning 14 chapters, ‘Low Poly 3D Modeling in Blender’ starts at the very beginning, with installing Blender and navigating its User Interface, before going on to teach solid fundamentals and best practices of modeling 3D assets via a number of smaller projects. Starting with a simple tree or chair, you will eventually work your way up to more complex meshes such as a tractor, a kangaroo, and finally an entire scene.‘Low Poly 3D Modeling in Blender’ is comprehensive, thorough, helpfully informative without being too dense to read. I’ve read a number of textbooks and how-to’s that are either too vague or simplified to be helpful, or tedious to sift through their contents. This book strikes a good balance.‘Low Poly 3D Modeling in Blender’ doesn’t stop at just modeling; it also touches on using materials in Blender, as well as rendering your scene. It also provides plenty of screenshots and diagrams to illustrate the concepts and techniques it covers.Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone looking to learn low poly 3D modeling. It is a comprehensive and practical guide that covers the basics and beyond. I wish I had read a book like this when I was first starting out in 3D work.

Can I download the code files for Early Access titles? Chevron down icon Chevron up icon

We try to ensure that all books in Early Access have code available to use, download, and fork on GitHub. This helps us be more agile in the development of the book, and helps keep the often changing code base of new versions and new technologies as up to date as possible. Unfortunately, however, there will be rare cases when it is not possible for us to have downloadable code samples available until publication.

When we publish the book, the code files will also be available to download from the Packt website.

The publication date is as accurate as we can be at any point in the project. Unfortunately, delays can happen.
