"Automating DevOps, with GitLab CI/CD Pipelines" is a book that I found really refreshing. While GitLab's official documentation covers the content this book presents it in a cohesive manner. It does have a bit of a tone, which's to be expected for enthusiasts of GitLab. However what I liked about it is that it uncovered some potentials of GitLab and helped me update my approach to CI pipelines. The advanced concepts are explained well better than what you would find in the official docs. This book is perfect for newcomers to GitLab or readers who might not be very tech savvy. Its structured in a way that makes it easy to understand for those who are just starting with DevOps. If you've already gone through the GitLab documentation you might find some parts of the book less novel. As someone with experience in software development automation is something that I focus on. This book provides a roadmap of how DevOps has evolved from processes to using GitLab. It starts with an introduction to Git. Then walks you through methodologies and how they tie into the world of CI/CD using GitLab. The examples provided are practical. Include one called "Hats for Cats."If you're looking for guidance on building secure software through automation, this book is truly invaluable. Whether you're new, to coding or an experienced veteran this guide is definitely worth having. Definitely a recommended book.
