Deploying the vMA appliance

vMA appliance deployment comprises of the following steps:

1. Download the appliance from the portal. Extract the files.
2. Deploy via the vSphere Web Client onto an ESXi host.

Getting ready

The vMA appliance will be deployed as an appliance on an ESXi server. It is a single virtual machine appliance. The ZIP bundle containing the OVF and the related files can be downloaded from the My VMware portal at https://code.vmware.com/tool/vma/6.5 . Once the files are downloaded, extract the files.

How to do it...

The following procedure will help you deploy the vMA appliance using the vSphere Web Client interface:

1. At the vSphere Web Client interface's inventory Home, navigate to Hosts and Clusters. Right-click on the ESXi cluster and then click on Deploy OVF Template....
2. In the Deploy OVF Template wizard, select the Local file option and then click on the Browse… button.
