Exporting image profiles

The whole purpose of using ESXi Image Builder is to create custom ESXi bootable images. Customization is achieved by manipulating ESXi image profiles. The procedure reaches fruition only when you can generate a bootable ISO or a usable offline bundle. The Image Builder GUI can be used to export image profiles as ISOs or offline bundles (.zip).

How to do it...

The following procedure will help you export image profiles:

Log in to the vSphere Web Client and navigate to the Auto Deploy plugin screen.
On the Auto Deploy screen, select a My Custom Depot, navigate to its Image Profiles tab, right-click on the image profile to move and click Export Image Profile...:

On the Export Image Profile window select the export type and click Generate image to begin the export. The export might take a few minutes to finish:
