Unmasking paths to a LUN
It is possible to unmask paths to a LUN. Deleting the claim rules, which were created to assign the ownership of the paths to the MASK_PATH
plugin, and unclaiming the paths from the plugin, does this. Understanding how the paths to a LUN are masked will be a good starting point for this task. Read the recipe Masking paths to a LUN before you begin.

How to do it...
The following procedure will help you unmask paths to a LUN:
- Identify the claim rules corresponding to the LUN and remove them:
esxcli storage claimrule remove –r <rule ID>

- Now that the rules have been deleted from the file, reload the claim rules to the memory to remove the runtime entries. Issue the following command to load the rules in the memory:
esxcli storage core claimrule load
- The runtime entries for

and121
will be removed from the memory because they don't have a corresponding file entry. - Unclaim all the paths...
