Chapter 11. Running a Workshop
A workshop provides a place for students in a class to see an example project, upload their individual projects, and see and assess each other's projects. When a teacher requires each student to assess the work of several other students, this workshop becomes a powerful collaborative grading tool.
Workshops are ideal for putting into practice a theory or a technique. They allow students to apply the concepts and also to take a building block approach, with guidance and help on each step of the way.
In addition to applying knowledge, workshops encourage group projects and collaboration. The advantage of a workshop over using a wiki or the Glossary as a collaborative project is that the workshops allow more options for bundling materials and activities, and there are also more options for assessment.
