Moodle collects usage data from all sorts of activities that take place from the time a user logs in until he or she logs out. This data can be utilized for a range of reporting and analytics activities that will be dealt with in this chapter. After a detailed overview of the underlying Moodle logging framework with its components events and log stores, you will learn about four types of techniques:
Moodle's reporting facilities: This includes activity reporting and user tracking as well some basic statistics
Report generation: This covers some powerful add-ons to create user-defined reports
Data analysis: This includes web log analyzers and live data trackers, such as Google Analytics and Piwik
