Custom Datacenter
A Custom Datacenter (CDC) can be used to perform capacity management and planning across disparate groupings of capacity providers.
You can associate all the analysis Badge data for these groupings. Using custom data centers, you can group various capacity provider objects, such as hosts, clusters, virtual data centers, and VMware vCenter Server® instances. These objects might span multiple vCenter Server instances.
For example, if you have an SQL Server environment that is made up of two clusters, but each cluster is in different vCenter Server environments, you can use a custom data center to track performance and capacity of this environment as a holistic SQL Server environment.
Creating a Custom Datacenter
You can create a custom datacenter from the Custom Datacenter
tab of the Environment page.
A list of the objects in your environment appears in the CDC wizard. You can select objects to add to your custom data center:
