Summary


Security rules using access based attribute control is a new and a compelling feature to Qlik Sense. It gives a lot of flexibility, full control, and, using the audit feature, a good overview of who has access to do what within your Qlik Sense environment. It allows you, as the administrator, to apply governance to the level acceptable in your organization: from pure, open self-service to very strict and controlled deployment of applications, anything is possible.

With Qlik Sense's multi-node scalability, it is straightforward to segregate mini project environments while maintaining everything under one hood. Security rules allow for that flexibility by enabling administrators to apply different rules to different projects, user types, even to different nodes. 

While robust, security rules in Qlik Sense need to be designed carefully for the platform to be scalable. Avoid creating hundreds of mini rules just as a tactical solution and try to plan ahead: How many projects will embark...
