What is custom duty/charge?

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

Do I have to pay customs charges for the print book order?

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.

A custom duty or localized taxes may be applicable on the shipment and would be charged by the recipient country outside of the EU27 which should be paid by the customer and these duties are not included in the shipping charges been charged on the order.

How do I know my custom duty charges?

The amount of duty payable varies greatly depending on the imported goods, the country of origin and several other factors like the total invoice amount or dimensions like weight, and other such criteria applicable in your country.

For example:

If you live in Mexico, and the declared value of your ordered items is over $ 50, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 19% which will be $ 9.50 to the courier service.
Whereas if you live in Turkey, and the declared value of your ordered items is over € 22, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 18% which will be € 3.96 to the courier service.

How can I cancel my order?

Cancellation Policy for Published Printed Books:

You can cancel any order within 1 hour of placing the order. Simply contact [email protected] with your order details or payment transaction id. If your order has already started the shipment process, we will do our best to stop it. However, if it is already on the way to you then when you receive it, you can contact us at [email protected] using the returns and refund process.

Dear readers,i stumbled upon this book during my preperations on business automation for our company. Appian seemed one of the most interesting options for us. So i got this book and started reading. How much i could get out of this i didn't know at the beginning. To my surprise i got a really good introduction on how the software looks and feels. The structure of the book is easy to follow and there are a lot of examples you can try to test during reading. The author discusses the pros and cons of software tools and what you have to look an during implementation. Even the topics on UX and usability are well mentioned.During the later discussions with our software engineers i could easily understand and follow their proposals. For me it was a good investment. I look forward to see the software go live.

When reading the book, you can clearly see, that the author has many years of experience in the field of low-coding and all the important topics connected to it. The author shares a holistic view on the whole process. A lot of books about software start with the description of the user interface and then go on and explain the functions of the menu and that’s it.This book goes far beyond that and shows also how to analyze business processes, modeling the business processes in the software, plan the software architecture and the whole project around it.This book is so much more than just learning the Appian software. It shows the tips and tricks and the methods for process analysis and process automatization. A good process is not sending an information to a person, who makes a decision and then makes the next click to send the result to the next person. A good process finds the rules to automatize the decision making to have a business process from start to end. The author also transports this mindset for building successful business process projects with low code Appian software.The book is on the one hand for starters, who have no clue about the Appian low-code software development. It shows you with a lot of examples and graphics how to build a software, including data models, UX and interface design. But it is also useful for advanced users, that know the software and want to use it for the right purposes. They get great tips and tricks to build a software for the right solution to the challenges their clients face day by day.Tl;drThe author does not only describe how to use Appian software, but also the why.

As someone less technical with a UX background, I found this book well structured. It starts with a simple quick app and every chapter gets more complex. There are good explanation of the big ideas, which then make it easier to understand what you are doing when you work through the tutorials, and most importantly why you're doing it (hint: it's about what users want to achieve). I haven't worked through the whole book, but from perusing the later chapters, I think it covers everything I will need.
