Building and configuring a virtual desktop


So, now that we have described how App Volumes integrates with Horizon View, we can start building this scenario using the Example Lab.

The next thing we need to have is a virtual desktop machine image built, containing all the components required for it to run. This build process is exactly the same as you would follow for building any other Horizon View-based virtual desktop machine; however, as previously mentioned, you now need to include App Volumes Agent as part of the image.

The process is illustrated in the following diagram:

In the Example Lab, we have followed the process as described in the diagram and created a template called the Horizon View desktop template, which will be used to create some example virtual desktop machines.
