Example


In this section, we will try to understand how the business requirement gathering happens in a real scenario. We will continue with the same example which we used in the previous chapter, where the CEO Eric and CFO Lisa of a retail company had a similar vision to increase the profitability of the company.

To convert their vision into reality, they want to analyze their sales along with the margin for various stores and various products. They want to do this using the Qlik BI tool and they have hired a consultant, Jay (you), to do the requirement gathering and implement the BI tool to help them achieve what they want.

You decide to have a requirement meeting with the business user, Mr. Ravi. Following is the conversation which they have while doing requirement gathering:

Jay (You): Good morning, Ravi, thanks for joining this meeting. I am a Qlik consultant and our company has been asked to implement the Qlik project to analyze your data to achieve the vision of increasing the profitability...
