Some more formatting


Let's wrap up this dashboard with just a few final formatting touches. We'll add a title and adjust the background using these steps:

  1. Click in cell B2 and enter Fabrikam Financial Dashboard.

  2. Click on the Home tab and change the font size to 20:

  3. Click on the View Tab and unmark Gridlines. This will create a blank white background:

Finally, let's fill in the background with a color.

  1. Right-click on the gray header cell between A and 1 (it resembles a triangle) to select the entire sheet and pull up the floating formatting menu:

  2. Select the Fill icon dropdown (it looks like an arrow to the right of the paint bucket) and select your background color. Click anywhere in a cell to close the floating formatting menu:

If you want to add a logo, you can go to Insert | Pictures. There are a lot of other things we can do to make this dashboard better, from both a functional and formatting point of view. The goal here is to provide you with an introduction. Here is our final dashboard:
