Overriding the cluster automation level for a VM
In the previous recipe, we learned how to set the cluster-wide automation levels. In this section, we will learn how to set an automation level on a per-VM basis. The cluster settings are overridden by creating VM overrides.
Getting ready
Prepare the list of VMs that are sensitive to vMotion/DRS migrations.
How to do it...
- Log in to vCenter and navigate to the desired cluster,
Configure
|VM Overrides
, and click onAdd...,
as depicted in the following screenshot:

- Click the (+) sign to choose from the list of available VMs.
- Modify to the desired automation level, overriding the default defined at the cluster level.
- Click
OK
to finish.
