Using Host Profiles to push a configuration change
The whole purpose of using Host Profiles is to effortlessly push the required configuration onto the ESXi hosts without the need for a manual configuration activity per ESXi host. This would not just come in handy when you deploy a new infrastructure but also when you want to push a new configuration to all the ESXi hosts.
The following flow chart shows a high-level overview of the whole procedure:

How to do it...
The following procedure will walk you through the steps involved in pushing/publishing new configuration changes to the ESXi hosts attached to a Host Profile.
- Make the necessary configuration change to a reference host.
- Right-click on the Host Profile and select the option,
Copy Settings from Host...
:

- On the
Copy settings from host
window, choose the host the changes were made on in the first step and clickOK

- You should see an
Update host profile
task complete successfully in theRecent Tasks
pane:

- Run a Host Profile compliance check...
