Managing physical adapter (vmnic) to dvUplink mappings
You can manage (add/change/remove) vmnic-to-dvUplink mappings using the Add Networking wizard. This is done on a per host basis, but you could use Add Networking wizard's template mode to push similar changes to multiple hosts if required.
Refer to step 12 of the Connecting hosts to a vSphere Distributed Switch recipe to learn how to push changes while in template mode.
How to do it...
The following procedure will help you assign/remove vmnic-to-dvUplinks mappings on a dvSwitch:
- Bring up the
Networking
inventory using the vSphere Web Client by using the key combination Ctrl + Alt + 5. - Right-click on the dvSwitch and select
Add and Manage Hosts…
:

- In the
Add and Manage Hosts
wizard, select the taskManage host networking
and clickNext
to continue:

- On the
Select hosts
screen, click onAttached hosts...
to bring up theSelect member hosts
window:

- On the
Select member hosts
window, select the ESXi host(s) to manage and clickOK
to confirm the selection...
