What is custom duty/charge?

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

Do I have to pay customs charges for the print book order?

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.

A custom duty or localized taxes may be applicable on the shipment and would be charged by the recipient country outside of the EU27 which should be paid by the customer and these duties are not included in the shipping charges been charged on the order.

How do I know my custom duty charges?

The amount of duty payable varies greatly depending on the imported goods, the country of origin and several other factors like the total invoice amount or dimensions like weight, and other such criteria applicable in your country.

For example:

If you live in Mexico, and the declared value of your ordered items is over $ 50, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 19% which will be $ 9.50 to the courier service.
Whereas if you live in Turkey, and the declared value of your ordered items is over € 22, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 18% which will be € 3.96 to the courier service.

How can I cancel my order?

Cancellation Policy for Published Printed Books:

You can cancel any order within 1 hour of placing the order. Simply contact [email protected] with your order details or payment transaction id. If your order has already started the shipment process, we will do our best to stop it. However, if it is already on the way to you then when you receive it, you can contact us at [email protected] using the returns and refund process.

Please understand that Packt Publishing cannot provide refunds or cancel any order except for the cases described in our Return Policy (i.e. Packt Publishing agrees to replace your printed book because it arrives damaged or material defect in book), Packt Publishing will not accept returns.

What is your returns and refunds policy?

Return Policy:

We want you to be happy with your purchase from Packtpub.com. We will not hassle you with returning print books to us. If the print book you receive from us is incorrect, damaged, doesn't work or is unacceptably late, please contact Customer Relations Team on [email protected] with the order number and issue details as explained below:

If you ordered (eBook, Video or Print Book) incorrectly or accidentally, please contact Customer Relations Team on [email protected] within one hour of placing the order and we will replace/refund you the item cost.
Sadly, if your eBook or Video file is faulty or a fault occurs during the eBook or Video being made available to you, i.e. during download then you should contact Customer Relations Team within 14 days of purchase on [email protected] who will be able to resolve this issue for you.
You will have a choice of replacement or refund of the problem items.(damaged, defective or incorrect)
Once Customer Care Team confirms that you will be refunded, you should receive the refund within 10 to 12 working days.
If you are only requesting a refund of one book from a multiple order, then we will refund you the appropriate single item.
Where the items were shipped under a free shipping offer, there will be no shipping costs to refund.

What tax is charged?

Currently, no tax is charged on the purchase of any print book (subject to change based on the laws and regulations). Having been a Studio One user since version 2 along with Avid Pro Tools and a bunch of other tools, dedicating time to the necessary learning curve each one of the tools we get to use piles in front of us has always been the biggest challenge for me, and as far as I can see in the part of the production circles I am a part of, I am not alone. You simply cannot put aside time to just sit down and discover every corner of what feels like the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean lying in front of you across multi displays when you have to work and just get the job done. You just learn to swim while you are trying to stay alive, or that's how it always feels. And we all know how the manufacturers' official documentations are like. You'd rather toss them aside and roll up your sleeves and dive in than trying to make sense of them.This 360-page book is a godsend in that regard. It is very well laid out from the get-go, and eveything is explained in a short-sharp-and-straight-to-the-point manner that gets you results that get you one step closer to the final product with every section you focus your attention to. I became aware of many ingenious sides of everyday tools that present great opportunities to create very striking results that you'd always think you couldn't do in Studio One. Obviously the author knows his trade.And the free PDF download version that came with the printed copy I purchased is like the icing on the cake. I think Presonus should pay the publisher the author's stake and add a copy of this book with every copy of Studio One they sell as the official training material. It is that good.Thanks for this great work. Well chuffed here.

A step-by-step guide to recording, editing, mixing, and mastering professional-quality music?As a guitarist and hobby producer, I have worked with several different DAWs over the years. Only a few years with the S1.So for me the answer to the question is, yes.First part with S1 setup, gives a nice review, especially as a new S1 user.Good illustrative screen images with relevant text and a review of many corners and menus.349 pages with well-written text, tips and tricks.10 page index makes searching easy.For me, as a non-professional, it is just the book I was missing, I have read the pdf version, but must buy the paper version as soon as possible.

I was actually a sales rep for Presonus several years ago. I spent years preaching the virtues of Studio One at many Guitar Centers, Sam Ash stores, churches, hobbyists and more. This is by far the most easily understandable manual that I've ever encountered. This teaches you from step one. From launching the app, to learning about dynamics, FX, compression etc, all the way to mixing and mastering. A step by step guide that anyone from a novice, to a pro or from someone coming from another DAW. I believe that this is a go to. I'd especially encourage anyone who's ever taken even a slight interest in music production and techniques to take this book and utilize it to the max . What makes this stand out as well are the screenshots and diagrams. You can literally have the manual one screen while duplicating the process on another (with Studio One running). This manual really emphasizes the powerful simplicity of drag and drop. One does not need to be afraid to launch the software after learning about it's ease of use. In a day and age of having AI and apps do the work for you , it's refreshing to see some authentic and legit techniques that can actually be used in any DAW. That being said, I do believe the more you read this manual and apply it's lessons the more likely that you will stick with Studio One as your DAW of choice, regardless of the iteration you choose. Presonus Audio is a fantastic brand to work with, this only emphasizes it. Great work, wish I could give 6 stars!!
