Summary
Remote unmoderated studies using surveys are a great way to gather user feedback that is both quick and deep. They are a viable solution for running usability tests with geographically dispersed participants in their natural environment, using their own devices according to their own schedule, while requiring less effort from the UX researcher (but more skill in survey creation).
A hybrid approach of user videos and surveys can be an excellent option as well. The next chapter describes the details of hybrid remote unmoderated studies.
