Summary

In this chapter, we developed two types of teaching interaction. First, we developed a course resource-type plugin that allows a teacher to include complex three-dimensional models in their courses. In developing this plugin, we explored the Moodle File API, and the Backup and Restore APIs--as well as learning how events are logged, how roles and permissions are managed, and much, much more. Second, we revisited the enhanced choice activity we first encountered in Chapter 3, Internal Interfaces. By enhancing Moodle's choice activity to allow teachers to include, for example, images in their choices (rather than choices being just text) we learned in detail how Moodle manages user files.

In the next chapter, you will learn how to manage users--from account provisioning to role assignment; we will investigate how to create new user accounts and have those users assigned to the correct courses.
