OpenShift

OpenShift is provided by Red Hat, and it can be used by the developer for free. In fact, Red Hat offers temporary virtual machines, where you can install your own applications and test them on a complete cluster. We are free to create our machines on the OpenShift net through tools provided by Red Hat. In the following section, we will configure a domain cluster with WildFly, as seen in Chapter 15, Sharing the Web Sessions.

WildFly installation

Here, we show the step-by-step installation of WildFly in OpenShift:

First, we have to connect to open shift clicking on https://manage.openshift.com. If we don't have a Red Hat account, we must to create it. The procedure is very simple, so we will not show the account registration in this chapter. Once we are logged in, we will get a page as follows:

Click on the FREEbutton and selectCluster Regions:

This page shows the available machines and their positions. For tests, only machines from the Virginia state are available. Clicking on the button...

He is one of the authors of the Gatein Cookbook, showing Gatein's portal and how to develop portlets with it, published in 2012 by Packt.
