The Slack messaging service
Slack is the acronym of Searchable Log of All Conversation and Knowledgeand it is a collaboration tool widely used by small and teams to share information, documentation, and ideas. Slack, at a glance, offers the following:
- Chat rooms:Public or private, the chat rooms team mates to discuss any topic without interfering with other people. A channel is persistent, can have a topic, and anyone invited can take part in it.
- Direct messages:People can direct messages to other people or groups so that they can have private direct conversations.
- Integrated searches:Everything in Slack is searchable, from the shared in a chat, to the files uploaded to it, and to the people we dealt with; and this is probably one of the most interesting features of this platform.
- Calls:Direct or group calls can be from inside a channel or on a direct message; and this is without the need of an external application, so there is no need to leave the platform.
