Reports

The reports provide a way to combine and analyze data in the Force.com platform. We can use reports to leverage the data onto the application that has accumulated over time. Reports are a good way to examine your data in many combinations, and display it in an easy-to-understand format. A report returns a set of records according to the particular criteria, and displays them in an organized way. The filtering, grouping, sorting, and graphical charting can be added to a report. Therefore, users can monitor and analyze the data that's being generated in the organization by building reports.

Reports can include standard objects and/or custom objects and show only the data and fields that are visible to the user running the report. When new objects and fields are added to Salesforce and once we check the checkbox of Allow Reports in the particular object creation, they are immediately available for reporting.
